You went out of the bidding almost as soon as you had bid Kev, never mind.
I never use sniping programmes and I wasn't prepared to stay up till silly o'clock in the morning just so I could jump in with a winning bid right at the end. So I just popped in a token bid that I was confident would be beaten

As an aside if Strictly can do this what happens if one of us gets blanks and gets an artist to work on it official or not?
I think you'd be hard pressed to find an artist who would do that. It's a definite no-no from what I've heard from several artists. It's also absolutely forbidden by the card companies, so artists aren't going to want to fall out with their potential employers. This subject cropped up when I was able to obtain some Harryhausen blanks. As I only wanted to complete my Master Set, I only approached artists who had done sketches in tiny quantities for the original release (i.e. only one or two cards each). They were all happy to do the commissions as they had worked on the original release but probably wouldn't have if they hadn't.

Oh by the way Master Set complete except Pangan and the other yearbox dudes, not quite sure if I really want to continue. Average cost £37 per card, so just over box price, trade that is not retail, cushty.
Well done Just sorry to hear you've had problems with one of your commissions.

I just dropped in on the Strictly Ink site and spotted that they are now advertising Dr Who Mono Binders for sale. There will only be 100 of these according to the site, so they may not be around for too long. |

As I've been struggling to find new homes for my 'surplus' sketch cards, I've decided to switch to plan 'B'. In short, I'm aiming to build a second complete sketch card Master Set. To that end, I've been doing a bit of trading and I've bought a couple of things on eBay (though one of those was paid for by trading so no money needed ). The results so far have been good as I have added five excellent new sketches to my collection and reduced my tradeable surplus to just nine. These are the new arrivals:
My only concern here being that I might have outbid Doctor Jas to get the Sean Pence Dalek. |

I really like the Wilkinson sketch and the others are good too.
Has anyone heard when the mono binders will be released? |

The standard reply is currently: in two weeks. The last response I had from Barrie was on the 7th January when he stated: shipping in 2 weeks. So not this coming week but maybe next |

I received my 2009 Yearsets yesterday and they included some new Dr Who sketches. There were five regular Who Mono sketches, one Big Screen sketch and three of the new special Gold Cards:

I haven't seen any new artists yet either, apart from that early return sketch that got posted on eBay. All of mine have been by artists from the original release, and only a handful of those too.
As far as I know, the Dr Who binders are coming out at the same time as the Avengers 3 sets, i.e. end of February. I haven't asked for an update on that recently though.
BTW, that Dan Bergren commission looks amazing. Well worth the wait by the looks of it. How did he squeeze so much into such a tiny little card ? |

The Dan Bergren is amazing and I am very happy with the card but I don't think he got up to the standards he set with his star wars returns. Maybe the card stock had something to do with that.
After almost 3 month it's nice to have a computer again so I can keep up with whats going on, even if it is a borrowed computer while mine goes away again. |

Added a Sean Pence sketch that is drawn straight onto the card stock and was a good price. One of only five done that way because of the card stock and the way I preferred the cards done.

My Dan Bergren sketch arrived today so I have updated the scan in the earlier post. For the card taking so long to be done he sent me this very nice extra dalek sketch.

That must of been what I got the missed post card for. Three and a half month I have been waiting for it and when it come I had forgotten all about it coming. Are the promos with it any different to the ones already released. |

There were no promo cards with my binder either but as I already have several of the two that were originally released I'm not too bothered.
Paul, if you still need the promos drop me a PM and I can get a pair to you. |

I received the final instalment of my 2009 Yearsets order this morning which included some more Who Mono Gold and regular sketch cards. Most of the Gold Cards are the work of Don Pedicini Jr. The colour Dalek sketches are by Chris Henderson. The two regular sketches are by Ryan Orosco and Sara Wilkinson:

I took advantage of Robert's commission offer and got the scans yesterday. The cards are fantastic and a great addition to my collection.
