Just spotted this - auctioned last year in the US. I wasn't aware that any "Wheel in Space" style original heads had survived. It sold for big money. Any 60s cyberman experts care to comment?

LOT 968 DOCTOR WHO SCREEN USED “CYBERMAN” HELMET FROM THE 1968 EPISODE “WHEEL IN SPACE.” PRICE $22,500, PREMIUM $4,500

http://profilesinhistory.com/auctions/hollywood-auction-83/

It's on page 304 of the flipbook.

It's quoted as being previously auctioned at Christie's and lo and behold here's the listing: http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/lot/dr-who-1662212-details.aspx?from=salesummery&intObjectID=1662212&sid=6581cf15-07cb-464d-a938-09fab0bb8b1c

Thanks for the info Ric.

I know nothing, but others will.

This link takes you straight to the flipbook page.

I have to agree - the face shape looks very different. Someone spent £22,205 on it (inc. premium and at today's exchange rate)

Originally made by Phil Robinson as a replica many years ago and sold as a replica.

Someone has done the dirty and sold as screen used.

Emails were sent to PIH to inform them that this was not real, but the people had no response.

Is that the second most expensive Dr Who item ever sold?

Certainly the most expensive replica?

According to my records, it's the third most expensive item at auction, after the Bamfords movie dalek last year (£38,560) and Dalek Six-ex at Bonhams in 2005 (£36,000)!
