Kenneth Gilbert, who has died aged 84, was a British character actor best known in the UK for his role in the afternoon soap Crossroads (the one with Meg Richardson, Benny and 'Miss Diane'!)
He played Oliver Banks in the 1980's.
But back in 1976, he played the part of Richard Dunbar, the corrupt civil servant, in The Seeds of Doom.
He was the chap who sold details of the Krynoid pod discovery to the marvellously sinister millionaire Harrison Chase.
Of course, he later became one of the Krynoid's victims.
