Is there any chance that someone on here downloaded the pictures of the boxed Selcol spinning top that sold on eBay latter part of last year? I thought I had, but can't find them now. I'm halfway through a restoration of the box and sadly have no "before" pictures.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Chris

Any chance of seeing some pics of the packaging, please? I missed the eBay sale and am only familiar with the top itself. Hope the restoration is going well :)

It wasn't a perfect restoration, but I had to remove yards of sticky tape that was holding the box together, and then build a substrate to hold all the separate pieces together.

WOW a battered old box from the 60's big deal :(

No No No only Joking lol

And to think that box is older than me god I wish I looked that good :)

How ever do you have a before picture ? Before your hard work ? It would be good to see a comparison

Thanks

All things considered, it looks fantastic! I'm struggling to see any signs of sticky tape residue and paper loss looks pretty minimal. The papery finish to the packaging must've made for a very delicate job!
On a similar subject, I'd love to see any images people might've kept from an eBay listing of a boxed example of Lincoln Toys' Anti-Dalek Sonic Disintegrator from a few years back... The box was triangular from meory.

Thanks so much, Chris, really great to see it again. Did this box require any sympathetic restoration?

Didn't commercial artists ever see a Dalek on TV? The variations are multifold.

If Zygons were green, they'd be gherkins.

They were working from black and white stills, often a set taken during Hartnell's 'The Daleks' rehearsals, so I suppose it was 'guess the colours' for the book, mag and toybox artists.

And we all know about the front circular 'speakers' often painted, which were actually reels of tape left by the fx guys, resting behind the upper collar while everyone went off for lunch.

Thank goodness nobody left a cup of tea on a dome. We'd be looking at illustrations of daleks with strangely familiar 'radar dishes' on their tops!

Still better than the paradigm ones. Lovely toys these. Thanks for the pictures.
