As always with these surveys, rather like the questions on the BBC's quiz show 'Pointless', it's very generational.

Older people recall older facts, youngsters name things I've never heard of! And it tends to be younger people who take part in these surveys.

To get a more accurate result, a survey should equally divide those taking part into various age groups. Then take an average from all the answers.

The New Series deliberately overplays for "emotional" moments, the Classic Series just produced them unforced.

I find any companions departure sad as the doctor is once more alone . always wondered why the doctor never went back to visit his companions .
