Having just finished my replica Dalek Thay , to go with my replica Dead Planet Dalek, I thought Id share some photos. These are fan buit replicas, built by me, and are in no way for sale, just for looking at. I hope this statement prevents any "copyright infringement" nasties.
Im quite proud of my two beasties, and am quite glad to eventually be a Dalek owner rather than a Dalek builder.

Thanks guys, you`re too kind.
Dalek thay took around 6 months to build, whilst the Dead Planet build took almost 2 years.(he was the first you see ).. once you have made one, most of the "working out how" has been done, and its easier second time around.
Both are mainly m.d.f.and Thay is as acreen accurate as possible (he has the wrong plunger in these photos) wheras the eagle eyed out there will have noticed that the dead city Dalek has movie shoulders and eyepiece, as thats what he started out to be, but I decided half way through to create a dead planet style Dalek.

When I was creating the dammaged rear panels, I stupidly used the C.O. 12 inc Dalek as refrence, so his rear panels arent that screen accurate after all, but he makes a superb full sized C.O. toy
Maybe a full sized damaged dalek thay backing card is next ?

Im not sure how fan builds fit into the world of collecting, but Im quite proud of them.(you may have worked that out already)

The main problem with full sized Daleks (as a fair few of you know) is the actual size of the damn things..especialy the N.S.D`s , Dalek Thay is HUGE ... his fender is a meter wide and almost 1.5m long...
He`s Certainly far too big to get inside the house... not that Sue would allow him anywhere near of course, so the Daleks live in the garage. They are of course available for display at conventions etc if anyone wants them.

Its outside the Leicester National Space Center. I was there with both daleks for a "Project Dalek" meeting in May this year. It was Dead city`s third visit to the N.S.C. but Thays first outing.

The Space center has some fantastic backdrops for Dalek photos.

Just been looking at your Dalek's CatfoodRob & they are superb, love the attention to detail..., I have no room for a full size Dalek BUT if I did I'd be looking to buy rather than build, my skills are lacking in the creativity area, well at least in trying to replicate something anyway..., it must be great to be able to create something like this!!!
