Steven Smith

Steven is a fan of Dr Who with roots that reach back to his early childhood watching the show on the television. He started seriously collecting Doctor Who merchandise in 1981 with many bits and pieces surviving from his early days. Steven lives near Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, and has dedicated a room of his house to exhibit his collection. With an affinity to Dalek toys he has devoted a large portion of his collection to these pepper pot foes.

Possessing a complete and unbroken run of Radio Times from the early 1960s to the current date, including all that have Dr Who related content.

Steven also has all officially-released Who trading cards in his collection.

He is always on the lookout for Daleks, especially rare Cherilea Daleks.

You can find Steven on eBay (dalekfan) searching for the hidden treasure and on occasion selling some of his surplus items.

Artwork

Brannigan by Kevin Graham
Hunted down for 18 months and now finally united: Kevins official one-off sketch of this character for Strictly Ink, together with Kevins preliminary sketch. A unique duo which I am proud to have in my collection.
6 card ensemble by Nik
A commission by Nik, January 2009.
Rose by Don Pedicini Jr
A lovely sketch, submitted by the artist as a sample of his work to Inkworks, who are currently considering releasing a Dr Who card set.
The Doctor & Zoe by Charles Hall
My favourite Doctor and companion: a commission by the very talented Mr Charles Hall. Love it!!!
The Whomobile by Warren Martineck
I have always loved this iconic card, from the moment I first saw it on Strictly Inks website advertising the release of their Trilogy Set. I am so pleased to now have this in my collection, thanks to a friendly fellow card collector!!
Strictly Ink Sketch Card: Zoe
Zoe drawn by Warren Martineck, who drew 62 sketch cards in total for the set; Sketch cards were randomly inserted into boxes of Trilogy Dr Who cards at the approx. rate of 1 in every 8 boxes (issued late 2006)
Unique preliminary pencil sketches by Nick Neocleous
A selection of pencil sketches, submitted by the artist to Strictly Ink as samples prior to Nicks formal assignment as a sketch artist on the Trilogy set. Note that all were done in fine pencil (a medium dropped by the artist for the actual sketch cards, other than the 1 Master sketch which is below, also in my collection). Note also that there are some subjects from the New Series, which were NOT repeated in the set itself, as of course the set was intended to cover Classic Who images only!! A BIG THANK YOU to Nick for allowing me to obtain these sketches from him for my collection, and permitting me to display them here.
More preliminary sketches by NIK
A further selection of unique pencil sketches, including a very nice Moxx of Balhoon!!!
Vorus (Revenge of the Cybermen) by Nik
Strictly Ink sketch card together with Niks preliminary pencil sketch card; note that the artist omitted the characters hair from the earlier version.
1st Doctor and Daleks!!
A rare double sketch card duo by Nik Neocleous. Great sketch Nick!
Jo Grant
Fine pencil sketch by Carolyn Edwards
The Seal of Rassilon
Iconic sketch card by Carolyn Edwards.
10th Doctor: Dawn - Daylight - Storm
Three of a series of innovative and imaginative coloured sketches by Carolyn Edwards, each titled and signed on the reverse.
Sunset TARDIS
Coloured Strictly Ink sketch card by Carolyn Edwards, signed and titled on the reverse.
Sketches by Chris Achilleos
A selection of Strictly Ink sketch cards by renowned Who artist Chris Achilleos, who did 35 sketch cards in total for the Series.
Roger Delgado as The Master
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Nik Neocleous. The artist has confirmed that not only is this the VERY FIRST Who sketch he did for Strictly Ink (he did 376!), but also the only one he has ever done in pencil for the Strictly Ink release.
The Master by Nik
A later colour example by Nik of the same subject.
Dalek (profile)
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Nik Neocleous. Appropriately, this was the first sketch card from the Trilogy Series that I box-pulled myself.
Dalek in Westminster
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Warren Martineck.
Daleks!
A selection of my favourite subject matter!: two colourful examples by Nik Neocleous; an unusual-perspective sketch by Rich Molinelli; and a fine pencil sketch by Sarah Wilkinson.
Davros!
Back at last in 2008. Sketches by Cynthia Cummens, Carolyn Edwards and Chris Mabbot (Viktor).
The sketch art of Kevin Graham
A selection of sketch cards, accompanied by their respective one-off preliminary sketch cards. Kevins distinctive style involves the use of a coloured background with the artwork drawn on the reverse of a clear sheet which goes over the top. A BIG THANK YOU to my friend Kevin for allowing me to obtain these preliminary sketch cards for my collection!
More preliminary sketches by Kevin Graham!
A further selection of the one-off sketches that Kevin did as templates for his Strictly Ink sketch cards. Again, grateful thanks to the artist for allowing me to add these to my collection!
Carrionites! - Doomfinger and Bloodtide!
Unique double preliminary sketch cards by Kevin Graham. The artist has told me that these are his favourite Who sketches...he didnt want to part with them, but I managed to persuade him! Thank you, Kevin!
The Judoon - a lovely Christmas Present 2007
I LOVE the Judoon, and my good friend sketch artist Kevin Graham very generously sent me this as a Christmas present. This is his original black & white preliminary sketch which he has coloured specially for me as he knew Id missed out on the final coloured version of this card on a certain auction website. Thank you Kevin. I treasure it!!!
A Sensorite
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Kevin Graham.
Martha Jones
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Kevin Graham
Sarah Jane Smith
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Kevin Graham
Felicitations!!!
The Moxx of Balhoon by Kevin Graham, who has confirmed that this is the only sketch card he did of this subject.

K9
A selection of Strictly Ink sketches by: Kevin Graham (obtained direct from the artist and dedicated to me on the back), Nik Neocleous and Amy Pronovost.
Sketch cards by 1960s Who illustrator Walt Howarth (1928 - 2008)
A selection of Strictly Ink sketch cards by the man who illustrated many of the Who annuals in the 1960s. Walt Howarth did 70 sketches in total for the Strictly Ink Series. The 1960s Cyberman is very much of his era, and the alien landscape, whilst not directly relating to any Who-related subject as far as I know, is, I feel, very evocative of the work he did for the 1960s Annuals. His iconic sketch of William Hartnell as The Doctor is further down this page. Walt sadly passed away on March 13th 2008, and this display of his sketch cards is respectfully dedicated to his memory.
Eldrad
As sketched by Chris Henderson.
Eldrad from The Hand of Fear
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Nik Neocleous
Bok and Azal
The terrible twosome from The Daemons, by Nik.
Foamasi
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Rich Molinelli. Rich did only 20 sketch cards for the Trilogy Series.
Vervoid
By Thomas Hodges. As far as I know this is the only sketch card he did of this subject (but I could be wrong...)
Axon (humanoid)
The only Strictly Ink sketch of this subject done by Nik.
Silurian
Strictly Ink sketch card by Nik Neocleous
Sontaran
Strictly Ink sketch card by Nik Neocleous
Lalla Ward as Romana II

Susan in Planet of Giants
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Cynthia Cummens of a classic image!

A selection of sketches by Cynthia Cummens, who did 100 sketches in total for the Strictly Ink sets. The Peri fine pencil sketch is a commission she did for me early in 2007.
Sketch cards by Howard Shum
A selection of Strictly Ink sketch cards by Howard Shum, who did 50 cards in total for the Series.
Paul McGann as The Doctor
Unique Strictly Ink sketch cards: one by Nik Neocleous, and a fine pencil sketch - her favourite sketch she tells me - by Carolyn Edwards from the Trilogy Monochrome Second Edition.
Preliminary & final sketches of Sylvester McCoy by Nik
The preliminary pencil sketch together with the final inked version of the card as included in the Strictly Ink Trilogy set.

Colin Baker as The Doctor
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Cynthia Cummens.
Peter Davison as The Doctor
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Nik Neocleous.
Tom Baker by Ingrid Hardy
Unique coloured Strictly Ink Sketch card.
Tom Baker by Jessica Hickman
Jessica Hickman is the rarest of all the sketchers for the Strictly Ink series: this is one of only 2 sketches she did, and was pulled from the 2006 Year Box.
Tom Baker by Nik
A stylish colour example. I love this card!
Jon Pertwee as The Doctor
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Nick Neocleous. I box-pulled this one myself!
Patrick Troughton as The Doctor
Unique Strictly Ink sketch card by Nik Neocleous.
William Hartnell as The Doctor
Sketch cards by: Rowena Pagarigan, Nik and Chris Henderson.
William Hartnell as The Doctor
A selection of unique Strictly Ink sketch cards: one by Nik Neocleous; a semi-caricature sketch by Amy Pronovost (who did only 30 sketches in total); and an iconic image by 60s Who artist Walt Howarth.
Sontarans!
Niks very first (and to date, only!) 4-card sketch, based upon the recent 2-part story. Thanks, Nik!!
Unique sketch by Nik Neocleous
A one-off, unique sketch of The Doctor and The Absorbaloff that I had specially commissioned from Nik, who has contributed many sketch cards to the Strictly Ink Trilogy Set in 2006. This was the VERY FIRST commissioned sketch card done by Nik, and he tells me it is still his favourite!
Unique sketch by Warren Martineck
A one-off, commissioned sketch of Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor. Warren Martineck contributed sketch cards to the Strictly Ink Trilogy set in 2006.
